Acceptance Speech by Queen Yarbrough
I am so honored to be standing here tonight. I have grown up coming to the fair, and it’s something that I look forward to every year. It is so humbling to be up here and until now, I didn’t realize how honoring it would be.
These past four months have been an incredible experience for me. I saw how much this community loves Caruthers and the Fair and how willing they are to support it. If you purchased tickets from either me or anyone of these girls, I thank you. Thank you for supporting not only us as contestants, but more importantly, the Fair. By supporting one of us, you have taken part in keeping this fair going and its traditions alive.
I know now how much hard work goes into this fair and I would like to thank the fair board for all of the work you do to make this fair a wonderful place to be.
I want to thank my dad and mom. I am so blessed to have had you to support me and help me these past four months. I couldn’t have done it without your help. I would also like to thank my grandparents and all of my friends and family who took time out of their days to help me sell tickets. I appreciate every one of you and thank you for all of the love and support you’ve shown me this past summer.
I am so blessed to be a part of this ongoing tradition, as the 2012 Caruthers District Fair Queen! Thank you all again and I hope you have a wonderful time at the fair!
